SEO Plugins for WordPress is essential

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a much talked about subject amongst bloggers. To date, blogs account for approximately 70 % of websites. Even in India, there are millions of bloggers that are fighting for a place under the World Wide Web limelight. In this fight for popularity, SEO plays a major role.

There are many blogging platforms available both free and paid as we well know. Though in my opinion, it is the paid platforms that are far more powerful than the free platforms.

WordPress is by far the most advanced and most popular platform for blogging. What makes WordPress king is the millions of amazing plugins in it WP database. These plugins can be used to integrate social buttons, animation, performance features, tools and of course to help you improve your SEO performance.

SEO Plugins

There are many ways to improve your SEO manually like using Meta-tags, descriptions, using good keywords and so forth. But what if there were plugins that could do the job for you more efficiently without being taxing on your time? Below is the list of top SEO plugins which can you to improve the SEO performance of your blog –

Top SEO Plugins Recommended for WordPress Bloggers

WordPress SEO by Yoast

The first and one of the most essential SEO plugins is the WordPress SEO by Yoast, which contains all the options you need for performance optimization for your blog pages. Whether it is the permalinks or maybe single page SEO, The WordPress SEO by Yoast can cater for all your requirements. It is also one of the most common SEO plugins used by many top bloggers. It is also a free plugin and can be downloaded from the WordPress directory, or via your WordPress plugins dashboard.

On Page optimization has become a major criterion for ranking better in Google search results. SEOPressor plugin offers on-page optimization for your blog like no other premium plugin. This plugin will help you to select the most relevant keywords; this plugin will also let you know about the keyword density of your post. You’ve probably seen that I mentioned ‘premium’. That’s because sadly SEOPressor plugin is not a free plugin. You have to purchase it and it costs around $47 for a single site, but worth every penny.

Google XML Sitemap

Having a valid sitemap is one of the most important elements of SEO. I highly recommend that you install this plugin in your blog directory if you already haven’t done so. What this plugin will do is create a map of all the links of your blog pages and will submit the information about the pages to major search engines like Google and Yahoo. This is a free plugin and can be downloaded from WordPress directory.

404 Redirection

404 redirection plays a supporting role in SEO. Suppose you have some broken links in your blog which are showing 404 errors to your readers, what this plugin will do is remove this error warning by redirecting those pages to the correct page. Again the 404 redirection plugin is a free plugin and can be downloaded from the WordPress directory.

HeadSpace 2

HeadSpace 2 is a powerful All in One plugin just like WordPress SEO by Yoast. This plugin allows you to tag your posts, create custom descriptions and titles and much more, hence this plugin improves your single page optimization further. This plugin is also available in multiple languages and it is a free plugin downloadable from the WordPress plugin directory.

Having these plugins to improve the SEO of your blog is important, but as we know having many plugins and multitasking on your blog can create cached memory on your web servers. It is also recommended that you optimize this area well so that your blog can still perform effortlessly under the function of your SEO plugins. Luckily there is a great plugin that can take care of this for you…

It’s called W3 Total Cache. This is a WordPress plugin that will improve the experience of the readers on your blog by improving the server performance. The plugin also improves loading time; reduce the download time of your pages and much more. One of other good thing about this plugin is that it’s free to download from the WordPress database or via your WordPress plugins dashboard.

OK these are some of the top SEO plugins that I myself use as well as other top bloggers. You can select the plugin according to your need. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding these SEO plugins, or want to mention one that I’ve not listed please leave a comment below.

Seopressor is undoubtly one of the best plugin i have used , people just dont get the value of premium of plugins , like I got an email that why should i use seopressor when i can add h1 h2 , bold and add alt text to images. It gets really hard to reply to those people , that seopressor makes your work a lot easier as it automatically handless 50% of the on page seo.

  • Deniz Rovcanin

    Hello Fabrizio, hello everyone,

I love this post, although I mainly do everything manually and I must say out of 5 names plugins above, I use only Google XML Sitemap.

My top 5 plugins would be:

    - Platinum SEO (Similar to Yoast SEO plugin)
    - Contact Form 7
    - Pingler
    - Select SEO Smart Links (This is a MUST-HAVE)
    - WP-PageNavi

Besides this you only need WP Super Cache and Akismet

I would also add BulletProof Security, Really simple Facebook Twitter share buttons (keep it simple and claen), WPtouch (mobile theme for visitors).

Optin Pressor is for experienced (I will write an article about it soon here).

    • Fabrizio Van Marciano

Hey Deniz thanks for stopping by mate and sharing your plugins with us. I’ve not come across the platinum plugin so I’ll be sure to check that one out. Also I have SEO smart links enabled on my XtemeBlogger blog but again I’ve not taken full advantage of that one either.
