The cloud computing and CRM company Salesforce has just signed a $689 million dollar acquisition deal with Buddy Media after a recent acquiring of the company Radian6. The Buddy Media deal is set to close later this summer. What is more remarkable about this acquisition is that the conversation surrounding the sale is much more about a personal response video created by Buddy Media’s CEO Michael Lazerow two hours after he signed with Salesforce.
Lazerow remains quiet throughout the entire video, but he smiles and nods frequently as he scrolls through a series of slides on his iPad that tell an emotional story of his life. He shares his near death experiences as a child because of a heart problem, how those experiences have helped him to push through times of fear, and his happiness over the sale of Buddy Media. The conversation has largely been positive surrounding Lazerow’s video with many people empathizing with Lazerow, calling the video “inspiring,” and re-sharing the video through social media platforms.
