The way we do SEO today has changed forever, for better or worst? It’s debatable. Google’s wave of algorithm updates has forced us to think and adapt differently to the strategies we use to make our web pages more search engine or ‘Google’ friendly to say the least.
But there’s so much confusing and some conflicting information on the internet to digest at times, I mean everybody’s saying something different about how we should be doing this SEO and that link building, who the hell do you actually believe? Don’t get me wrong there are some truly valuable information out there amongst the weeds, but seriously folks take everything you read with a pinch of salt…
OK on the subject of building backlinks today, there is a simple alternative solution to chasing inbound links to your blog which I want to share with you in this post. A simple solution that you’re probably already doing every single day!
Let’s cut out all the hype about building backlinks for one single minute. You don’t need to be wasting valuable time trying to figure out where to get backlinks from! You don’t need to be throwing money away outsourcing SEO services or paying someone else to build backlinks for you either! Here’s all you need to be going…
2 Simple Steps For Building Backlinks While You Blog
Step 1. Focus all your efforts on creating nothing but stacks of high quality and engaging content that is SEO friendly for your blog, not the same old tripe that everybody else is ranting on about on their blog’s, but content that offers a completely different outlook and perspective on a subject or topic.
For example, stop writing silly list posts telling people how to get more Twitter followers, we know the basics of how to get twitter followers already… instead, show them something different that they’ve not used before or even better, show them what you’re doing to increase followers on twitter, and then give them the proof that the strategies you’ve been using is working for you, in other words create inspiring case studies.
Your readers will be much more impressed and a lot more inspired to see real results as apposed to just being told ‘how they should be doing it’, which is why case studies can be very powerful. Case studies can inspire people to take action, and that’s the secret here, you want them to take action as in read, share, link back and so on.
Step 2. Do exactly the same as above, but this time when you’re guest blogging on other blogs…
Now repeat the above step 1 over again only this time when you’re guest blogging on your favorite blogs, in addition if possible add a link back to a related post or case study on your own blog from your guest blog content.
Ensure your engaging content is being shared, discussed and broadcasted everywhere around the the blogosphere, including blog community sites, content curation sites and social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ and Pinterest. Remember don’t just encourage people to share, also encourage them to start talking about it too.
Do this for as long as you can and your backlinks will take care of itself.
You see if you can get more people to share your awesome content everywhere, others will start to notice and do the same. They’ll be linking back to your posts from their own blog posts and articles, they’ll be talking about your content on the forums etc, bookmarking it etc, and in the background you’ll be gaining quality backlinks.
Stop wasting your precious time worrying and trying to fine tune every single link building tactic in the book and focus on the big engaging CONTENT!
