How to Add Vertical Response to your Facebook Fan Page!

Vertical Response is a fast growing flexible online email marketing solution for online businesses of all kinds. We recently covered the benefits of using VerticalResponse in our Email Marketing Solutions. In this post I’d like to share with you some cool tips in getting the most out of your email data collection campaign.

Step One – Create a Facebook landing page

Log into Facebook and access your fan page. Click ‘Edit Page’ under your fan page logo. Click on the ‘Static FBML’ link in the menu. If its not there you may find it by browsing more applications. Once clicked you will be taken to the Edit Page and under the giant question mark there is a link ‘Add to my Page’, click it. A list of your pages will appear in a pop up box where you can select which page you’d like to add this box. Select accordingly.

Step Two – Back to your page

Going back to your page, click on edit page once again and in the list you’ll see the ‘Static FBML’ link, click on the ‘Edit FBML’ link. You will come to a page with box title and a FBML box, in the box title type in ‘Subscribe to Email’ or just ‘Subscribe’.

Step Three – Get your widget!

In a new window go to the VerticalResponse website and login with your details, if you don’t have an account then sign up for one. In the ‘Quick Links’ section in your account dashboard click on the ‘New Opt-In Form’. Create your custom form to your desired specification and get your code.

Step Four – Back to Facebook!

Going back to your fan-page paste the code into the FBML box and click save. Go back to edit page and you will now see in the list a page called ‘Subscribe to Email’ or ‘Subscribe’ FBML. Click on the ‘Application Settings’ link and make sure that the tab is visible. If it is visible it will say ‘Remove’. If it’s not visible it will say ‘Add’ if so click on the ‘Add’. Press OK and then ‘View Page’ at the top of the menu.

Step Five – Vertical Response added…

You’re all done, by viewing your page you can now see the tab you’ve created and added using FNM: ‘Subscribe to Email’ or ‘Subscribe’ where your visitors can click on and subscribe to your email marketing newsletters through Facebook using your Vertical Response opt-in form.
