Why Making Money Blogging Doesn’t Work?

Every blogger is inspired by the celebrity bloggers making sh&t loads of money bragging on about how they make tons of cash blogging about making money online, what a mouthful of trash that was. Whilst these do help a considerable amount of new comers find their ground in the blogging world its imperative that when setting up a blog not to fall into the trap of following trends. Sure the likes of John Chow and Shoemoney make a killing from their blogs because they’re good at making money blogging about making money online. Be inspired but don’t follow.

You can make money blogging about anything that you’re passionate about; I’ve mentioned this in numerous posts. But if you try and make money blogging about what everyone else is ranting on about just for the sake of it, it won't work. Still not sure what to blog about? Let me give you an example; One of my brothers has a passion for cars and in particular a rare and well sought after hot hatch which at one stage was every boy racer’s dream. He spent many years stripping these cars from start to end learning everything there was to know about the car from the history side to the technical side. He could have easily launched an online blog three or four years ago and have attracted hundreds and thousands of enthusiasts alike and thus made a very profitable killing from monetising the blog. See where I'm going with it?

There are numerous blogs out there elaborating on using keyword tools to find a niche that has very little market competition in which one can create a blog and dominate the market with. Whilst this is great advice, I find it difficult to understand as to why anyone would want to blog about some bullsh$t that they know very little about regardless whether it’s a great niche or not.

Personally I prefer to blog about something I enjoy doing or have a great deal of knowledge about. I have plenty of interests and knowledge with them, so in time I may want to launch another blog. My advice is to read what others are blogging about asides from blogging about making money online. Read the posts and you’ll soon find that there is passion and great interest in the detail of the content. What ever you find you’ll be able to tell whether the blog owner is passionate about what he or she’s sharing. Make a short list of all the things that interests you and have a great deal of knowledge about, and then finalise which you’d like to create an online blog about.
