Self Improvement Tips Part 1: Motivation

This week I’ve had an insight into an essential element far more important than any other methods of productivity. It’s been brought to my attention just simply how hard it can be for some individuals to find real motivation to succeed in life let alone in business.

Getting motivated isn’t as easy as it might seem to the majority of people wanting to succeed in business. Getting motivated demands far more than simply becoming inspired to succeed and there are so many things that can make us feel unmotivated. Here are just a few:

Financial problems

Personal health issues or the health issues of a loved one

Lack of knowledge and understanding

Lack of support from friends or families

Family problems or issues

Being a single parent struggling to make ends meet

Relationship issues

Individual personal circumstances affect us all in many different ways and in many cases can leave us feeling unmotivated and simply down and out desperate.

One of the first things I try to do when helping individuals find motivation is to make them assess their current circumstances by making a list of all the things them de-motivates them, and then I asking them to make a separate list of all the things that inspires and motivates them.

Being able to identify the things that de-motivate you enables you to understand better the underlying issues that can affect the way you think or feel about succeeding in life. For example many people get de-motivated by clutter and untidiness. This could be in the home or the office.

Either way the only way to overcome this is to become better organised and create a tidier living or working environment. Only then can you feel motivated to succeed in other areas of your life in this case being your business.

The simplicity here is if you can achieve a tidier home or office environment, psychologically you can work to achieve smaller goals in other areas of your life such as your business building or marketing strategy, and trust me it works.

I know it becomes much more difficult depending on the nature of the circumstances that de-motivates many individuals, but as they say time is of an essence in healing or overcoming issues in life. Learning from your experiences is enough motivation for anyone to spur themselves on to succeed in life.
