What’s In Store for Magnet4Marketing in 2013?

Hey folks, as 2012 comes to a close, I’m sure that many of you will be preparing for the start of brand new year, if you’re making plans and setting new goals, I’d like to wish you the very best of luck.

The month of December has been a really trying and testing month in the Van Marciano camp, not just in the running of our online businesses but in our personal lives too.  As a matter of fact, there was even a time when my partner Samantha and I thought about putting the Magnet4Marketing blog up for auction on Flippa.com, which I announced on Facebook back at the beginning of December.

Plans for 2013

Unfortunately you see, things do happen in life that really tests us all, as one of my commentators rightly said in the last post that I wrote about ‘finding your passion to blog;

“It is quite difficult to continue when you face a setback. But, you have to learn to deal with them and keep moving forward — try to mend the problem or try something new”

And that’s exactly what we’ve decided to do, and if there is one thing we’ve learned from facing difficult times in life recently, is that you have a better chance of overcoming it if you understand the problem fully, and know exactly why certain things are happening around you.

Anyways, as I mentioned after much careful consideration we were both so pleased to have made the decision to continue blogging and building up the Magnet4Marketing blogging business.  So we’re making new plans and setting new goals for the coming year 2013, which I’d like to share with you all in this post.

1. Blogging Ambitions

Finding time to blog very recently has been a bit of an uphill challenge for me, especially with my other online businesses getting busier at this time of year with increased sales over the festive season, and of course my 7 month old son taking much of the bulk of my time – which by the way, I’m really loving every single minute of being a work at home dad right now.

As from January 2013 I will make it my mission to write and publish at least 3 blog posts per week on magnet4marketing.net.  I do however own three other blogs which also need my attention, and so I’d like to be able to write at least 1 post per week for those blogs also.  If you want to check out my other blogs, you can do so here:

  2. http://www.xtremeblogger.net
  3. http://www.onlineincomejournal.net

2. Changing the Rules of Guest Posting

First of all ‘very importantly’, thanks to everyone who submitted guest posts for consideration throughout the whole of 2012, really, some of you have shared some awesome and extremely valuable content with our readers on the blog and it’s truly appreciated.  I will continue to accept guest posts, but unfortunately I’ve had to once again recently turn down many of them, due to lack of quality and relevancy.

We’re now looking for the very best, 100% unique and relevant content, stuff that our audience want to read and be bowled over by.  The days of submitting generic, regurgitated, self-promotional content is over I’m afraid to say, so the best thing for anyone interested in writing for us now is to follow the blog for a while, especially if you’re new.  Check out some of the recent guest posts we’ve published before making your own pitch.  Don’t forget to use our easy to use, ‘submit your Guest Post’ form.

3. Regaining Lost Traffic with Off-Page SEO Strategy

I am doing the absolute best I can to make the pages and posts on the M4M blog as SEO friendly as possible, without over doing it of course.  However the underlying problem to why we suffered such a massive drop in traffic throughout the latter part of 2012 I’m positive was due to the state of our ‘link profile’.  I will be working hard on building better quality links and improving the profile throughout 2013, and hopefully have a better guest writing, content curation and social media marketing strategy in place.

I also recently (beginning of November) submitted a list of links I wish to have removed using the ‘link disavow tool’ in Google Webmaster Tools, those are links that I’m not responsible for creating in the first place, and ones that I’ve tried getting removed myself but have had no success with the website owners.  So far nothing has changed in my link profile…

4. Podcasting

One of the things I’ll be doing a lot more of in 2013 is podcasting, which I started taking seriously at the beginning of November.  I’m now set up with a professional microphone and mixer, so this is an exciting area for me to be focusing my attention on and using to put new content out onto the blog.  I’m currently putting together episode 3 also which will be out on, or around the 10th January 2013.  If you want to tune in and listen to the first two episodes you can do so by heading over to iTunes to download them.

5. Video Marketing and YouTube

Video Marketing and YouTube is also an area that I keep saying to myself I must make more use of but again haven’t yet done so properly.  When I say ‘properly’ I mean that I’ve not yet created anything useful other than a few announcement videos and some short product reviews and perhaps a couple of screen grab tutorials.  In the past week or so I’ve created a list of possible video topic ideas which includes new tutorials that I want to try and create in 2013.  I aim to put out a new video on YouTube at least twice per month.

6. Products and Services

If you’ve not yet checked it out, I’ve added a new products and services page outlining all the products and services that I’ve used and found extremely useful along my journey for online success.

These products and services contain affiliate links, meaning I earn a small commission from the sales, should you click on a link to complete a purchase of any product or service.  Don’t worry there are no additional costs incurred on your part, look at it as a small way to thank me for recommending a product or service to you, which also helps me to maintain this website.

As for my own products, I am still in the midst of completing my new eBook 10 Ways to Build a Better Email List’ which I’m hoping will now be launched in early February, fingers crossed.  There will also be a new revised edition of the blog traffic tips eBook, with a reworked title ’200 Ways To Get Traffic to your Blog in 2013′.

As you can see I’m holding myself accountable for quite a few things in the new year.

My goals for Magnet4Marketing are to regain the loss of traffic to the blog, continue building my email list (very important) which is currently at 1,143 subscribers, and launch 2 new information products.

Well that’s enough from me for now, however I’d love to hear about your goals and ambitions for 2013.  Please feel free to share what you have in store for your blog, website or business in 2013 below in the comment section.  In the meantime we’d like to wish you all a very happy new year :)

Hey Fabrizio! So glad to hear that you and Samantha have decided to keep this blog. I think it has so much potential and I’m looking forward to the new content you’ll be publishing – and of course the podcast!

My goal for 2013 is to grow my podcast and stick to a more regular recording schedule.

Hi Ileane, thanks so much for your comment and continued support. You have no idea how much your kind words mean to us. I won’t be blogging every single day like I use to, but certainly 2 to 3 times per week and hopefully the content I choose to put out will be more valuable.

I love your podcast by the way, I’m always checking out for new updates. I’m looking forward to hearing more Ileane, all the best for the new year :)

    Hi Fabrizio,

It’s a good thing that despite the challenges you may have faced you have decided to weather the storm by keeping the blog. It’s also a good thing that you have set out some definite plans for the coming year. I’m also setting out my plans, which I really did not want to publish on the blog but seeing that many bloggers are doing this, I may do it in the next few days.

    • Fabrizio Van Marciano

Hey Chadrack thanks for your comment mate. Happy new year :) I think it’s good to share the plans you may have for your blog with your audience, as it may poise as a good opportunity for them to voice their own thoughts and opinions about your ideas. All the best for 2013.

Hey Fabzy, I’m so pleased we were able to keep this blog going in 2013. It was a huge decision to make but Ileane is right, the site has a lot of potential, especially with the podcasting, building the email list and adding a whole new dimension of content to the blog.

As always you have my full support, and I’m as excited as you are about the new year, things can only get better. I know its early day yet, but I’m sincerely looking forward to launching the first eBook in February.
