This is a review of BlueHost web hosting for WordPress - Hey folks today I want to provide you with an honest BlueHost web hosting review. If you’re thinking about starting a blog or migrating your existing blog to a new web host provider for any reason, I would highly recommend using BlueHost, and here’s why.
BlueHost Web Hosting Review
About BlueHost
BlueHost is a shared web hosting service provider with offices based in Utah, USA. BlueHost has been around since 1996, they are a well established web hosting company that has been providing web hosting solutions for small and large businesses all over the world. BlueHost receives over 20,000 new signups each month and hosts literally millions of domains. BlueHost are the favourite web hosting service provider recommended by many bloggers, businesses and corporation including CMS giants, WordPress. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider using BlueHost.
1. Reliable Web Hosting
OK let’s talk about the reliability of hosting your website with BlueHost.
I’ve been with BlueHost since 2009 and I host the Magnet4Marketing blog and another blog (XtremeBlogger.net) on a single account, and to be as honest as I can be I’ve experienced downtime only twice in those 3 or so years. The first was when BlueHost was relocating their data centers, which was well executed and I was offline for less than a few hours.
The second time was almost 14 months ago when there was some technical problems with the server my account was hosted on, which took my sites offline for about an hour. Asides from that they’ve been as reliable as expected. I should also mention here that BlueHost also build their own servers. Reliability Rating 4/5
2. Affordable Web Hosting
Let’s look at the cost of hosting your WordPress website with BlueHost. BlueHost offers a single professional web hosting package, unlike DreamHost or HostGator who offer various tiers of services. BlueHost offers a single package at $4.95 per month which makes them very competitive. Affordable rating 5/5
3. Unlimited Services
So what do you get for $4.95 per month? BlueHost provides an unlimited service which includes –
- Unlimited Domain Hosting
- Unlimited GB Hosting Space
- Unlimited GB File Transfer
- Unlimited E-mail Accounts
They also have a money back guarantee should you not be satisfied with their service. Upon registration for BlueHost web hosting you also receive a free domain, free site builder w/ templates, secure shell, SSL, FTP, stats, CGI, Ruby (RoR), Perl, PHP, MySQL, $100 free Google credit, 24/7 phone, chat & email support which we’ll talk about later on in the review. Features and Tools Rating 4/5
4. Ease of Use
One of the first concerns that I had when I was searching for a reliable web host was the ease of use I would experience. I’m not a tech savvy individual by any means so I was pleased to find the cPanel simple to use and navigate around. Everything is laid out well, however I’ve used other cPanel’s before and visually, I’ll admit there is nothing appealing about the cPanel in BlueHost, but it is fairly simply to use and navigate around and it does the job.
If you’re hosting your WordPress blog it couldn’t be easier to install your WordPress blog in BlueHost, as BlueHost uses SimpleScripts to add a one-click install feature for WordPress CMS. SimpleScripts also allows you to easily install other popular blogging platforms such as Joomla and Drupal. Ease of Use Rating 4/5
5. Customer Service
The final part of my review talks about the level of customer service provided by BlueHost. They offer 24/7 Phone, Chat & Email Support though I’ve never used their phone support, as I’m based in the UK and phoning overseas would cost me an arm and a leg. I have used their Live Chat support however on about 4 occasions, and as honest as I can be, their technical team has been more than helpful in all circumstances. I find it amazing how I can be so far away, literally thousands of miles away, it could be in the middle of the night or the middle of the day; if I have a problem I can usually contact live support within 30 to 60 seconds. Customer Service Rating 5/5
Conclusion
BlueHost is WordPress’s and millions of customer’s top choice of web hosting for those very reasons, and I may have missed a few other good points no doubt. In the three or so years that I’ve used them they have provided me with a service I can only be grateful for, and I wouldn’t recommend using them if I didn’t trust them.
Admittedly there probably are cheaper services out there, if you’re looking to save money use an alternative, but if you’re looking for something reliable and something with a little more solid reputation behind them then I’d opt in for using BlueHost, for the sake of a few more dollars, what ever you decide I’ll leave it up to you. I hope this BlueHost web hosting review will be helpful.

Yet another great review Fabrizio, I think the folks will enjoy reading an honest user review and get something back at the same time. I love Bluehost, the fact that they have a single plan makes them very simple to use.

Hey Fab,
Only recently I was considering moving host, I was getting the urge to jump ship but I was impressed with how they dealt with some downtime we faced. I keep hearing good things about Bluehost and the prices seem reasonable – Think I’ll keep them on my list of possible host for the future.

One of the key points for me is the one that says that it’s easy in usage. Because my previous experience with web hosting providers wasn’t as easy as I wanted it to be

Ease of use depends on how you find anything these days. I’ve found some sites with a simply layout hard to get around whilst others with a more technical interface easier to use. BlueHost uses a standard cPanel but everything is where it should be and that makes it simple to navigate around

I’ve used Bluehost as for my first hosting, didn’t turn out good. My site was always down, support is not helpful. Maybe I just got lucky with them
Good to know you found your hosting partner Fabrizio!
