Content scraper alert – Hi folks today I want to share with you a prime example of what a low life, good for nothing copycat blogger content scraping scum looks like… Guy’s and dolls and loyal readers of M4M, you know it’s not like me to loose my cool in the ‘ethical’ blogosphere, but this guy has really narked me off.
He goes by the name of (Name Removed in light of receiving his formal written apology), an 18 year old ‘unethical’ blogger based in India, and he’s the proud owner of a unique content scraping blog called GURUNSB.COMYR.COM.
A few days ago I started receiving a high number of unusual trackbacks from this URL and I’ve been keeping a close eye on this guy’s blog. Yesterday I emailed him kindly and nicely asking him to remove my content and my guest author’s content off from his blog, or we will be taking action… As expected I received no reply from my first email… I emailed him again this morning almost 12 hours ago and still no reply…
This guy has scraped almost 100 posts from my blog and a few posts from some other poor souls’ blog.
I just wanted to share a screen shot of this guy’s blog and remind all newbies out there, new to blogging that this is a prime example of what a content scraper blog looks like, it’s called cheating your way in blogging (Affiliate link); it’s unethical and will get you absolutely nowhere. Take a good look peeps… Hopefully he’ll scrape this post and place it in his blog also…
“Blogging is a lifetime commitment of hard work, perseverance, determination, patience and applying ethical methods. What this geezer’s doing is totally the reverse.”
Again if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should do with this content scraper, please let me know in the comment section below, thanks in advance. Please feel free to share this post, tweet it, like it, give it a +1 etc, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Regards – Fabrizio Van Marciano
Sorry to hear dude, I’m sure you will get it fixed, hope all goes well.
Thanks Hassan, it’s just disheartening to see. Thanks for stopping by.
What an absolute cheek. It’s people like that the web could do without. Have you tried reporting him to his host?
Hi Sammy yep I did that last night and they emailed me this morning (000webhost.com) to alert me that the site had been removed from their server, one less scraper to worry about
Such a cheater. The fact that he doesn’t want to reply on any of your emails, means that he’s really guilty about it and just want to walk away from it. I hope everything turns out fine in the near future.

Thanks Anna, you’re absolutely right. Coincidentally he replied to me about an hour ago stating he didn’t want to remove them. Anyway 000webhost.com who was serving his site has since removed the site from their server, so that’s good news.
Oh wow, a parasite with chutzpah! I hope he gets what he deserves. I cringe at the thought of somebody stealing my hard work and passing it off as their own. Although, I don’t think his site will thrive specially with the changes in SEO still the thought is maddening.

Right Reese, me neither, he wasn’t doing himself any favors, though having spoken to him now a couple of times, his written apology was sufficient. I made an extra effort to provide him with some guidance so hopefully this time he’ll get on the right road to starting a blog.
Well, it’s a pity to hear that you had such a situation, Hope that you will solve this problem in the nearest time.
That was cheating and it is a sin actually…Sometimes, we can’t really prevent them things to happen… We have to be careful always…

I actually have no idea what to do with him, but I think this is insane. What does he think he is?

Hi Julie, when I first stumbled upon the endless copied posts that I saw of mine on his blog I actually asked myself the same thing, what the hell do I do with this guy? But after my thumping heart settled in my chest I got some great advice from my readers and fellow bloggers, so I was able to take action, thanks everyone
The internet is a cruel game, isn’t it? As we continue to expand the amount of information and idea sharing, what can be done to police and protect content rights? As the internet continues to grow and become more essential, this is something that is going to have to be addressed.
You’re right Robert, I know that there are some services that help deter content scraping and theft, but there needs to be something a little more substantial. If content needs to be shared there there are social sharing tools and email for this, but it’s so easy to right click everything on a website and past it into your own, way too easy. Thankfully as Reese mentioned earlier, the changes being made in SEO is certainly designed to penalize these kinds of sites.
Hey Fabrizio Van Marciano,
You may try too fixed it peacefully if he didn’t response or support you so you can contact Google or his/her web hosting service provider.
