Which is the Best Web Host Affiliate Program for Bloggers?

When it comes to making money online, affiliate marketing is on every blogger’s agenda, it is also one of my top methods of blog monetization too. Whilst I respect that there are a considerable amount of web hosts out there offering some form of affiliate program, sometimes it can be hard to decide which one offers the best deal for affiliate marketers, bloggers.

Let’s take a look at four web host service providers and what they have to offer in affiliate programs and compare them with their neighboring rivals. We’ll look at BlueHost, DreamHost, HostGator and Go Daddy.

Go Daddy Affiliate Program

Let’s take a look at Go Daddy’s affiliate program to begin with. Go Daddy offers a wide range of banners and text link based ads to place anywhere on your blog, website or email marketing newsletters. With an unlimited earning potential you can earn 20% commission on almost all product sales made using your unique affiliate link. Go Daddy’s affiliate program is provided via Commission Junction and LinkShare. You can have your commissions paid directly into your bank account, PayPal, Check or Go Daddy GoodAsGold.

web host affiliate

Pros – One of the biggest web host providers on the web, easy to apply for either via Commission Junction or LinkShare, cookie duration 45 days.

Cons – Commission a little low at just 20% compared to DreamHost, HostGator and BlueHost, but that’s just me being nit-picky.

DreamHost Affiliate

DreamHost offers a great affiliate program for bloggers which also happens to be one of my top earners here at Magnet4Marketing. DreamHost offers a wide range of affiliate banners as well as your own unique affiliate link in which you can custom to point onto any page you wish at DreamHost. One of the best things about the DreamHost Reward Program is that you can also create your own coupon promotional codes, furthermore increasing your earning potential. For each new customer you refer to DreamHost you can earn up to $97 per signup, and an additional $5 for each signup they send your way.

Pros – Reputable and widely used web host, easy to apply for and use, great promotional tools including coupon codes creation manager.

Cons – 97 day holding period, good choice of ad link images but somewhat lacking in certain sizes – again being nit-picky.

BlueHost Affiliate

BlueHost is another one of the biggest web host service providers on the web, offering affiliates a unique opportunity to earn a commission from their 20,000 new signups each month. For each client you refer to BlueHost you earn a commission of $65, not bad.

Pros – Easy to signup to, create custom tracking links and mange multiple campaigns, track your clicks, conversions and commission payments, great selection of banners and text links.

Cons – Affiliate dashboard somewhat primitive and could do with a makeover, no facility to create discount coupon codes.

HostGator Affiliate

Finally we arrive at HostGator affiliate. There are a lot of bloggers already making good income from HostGator affiliate, I personally haven’t been as successful as I have been with DreamHost but to be honest I’ve not put that much work into it. Ok so what can I tell your about HostGator Affiliate? HostGator consider themselves to be the number one hosting provider, affiliates can earn up to $125 per sale. As well as having your own unique affiliate link, affiliates can get access to a host of high quality banners ad links.

Pros – Easy to signup and get started immediately, great choice of banners, attractive commission rate, create your own promo codes, top earning potential of up to $125 per sale, frequent further discount promotions i.e. black Friday, cyber Monday, 4th July etc.

Cons – Affiliate dashboard could do with being a little more user friendly and informative.

In my opinion , HostGator affiliate program is the best web host affiliate program . You can even make upto $125 per sale !

The $125 sounds enticing doesn’t it, although you have to make over 20 referral sales in one month to get such a commission, thanks for dropping by PrIyAnGsHu.

You say HostGator is your best money maker between the four, but I can’t see it pop up in your earnings report from a few days ago (/2011/12/02/magnet4marketing-blog-traffic-and-income-report-for-november-2011/)
Which category would the hosting affiliations be in?

You know, even Amazon’s affiliate program is pretty decent.. I used to host Amazon and it gave me good returns. Great article.

    • http://www.magnet4marketing.net Fabrizio Van Marciano

Hi yes, I’ve just started to use Amazon’s affiliate program myself. I know it’s early days but certain hope to start making some money from the referrals in the new year. Thanks for stopping by :)

I have been running with hostgator for years and I really like them. One thing to add is that blog hosting is something you can promote on any site, its not niche specific and is general enough to go anywhere – anyone looking to get started with cashing in on the blog I would advise to try it as a start point.

The HostRocket program is not bad: with it, you can earn lifetime commissions via referrals…
