I am wondering how can someone send 200000 text messages in a month. That’s exactly what we can call a spam bot! Most of the SMS promotional messages are not targeted to the profile of the person using the mobile phone and hence they look like spam. I wish SMS marketers could follow the lead set by their online counterparts.

    • I agree Raj, I’ve begun receiving text message marketing messages which have absolute no interest to me, which would suggest that some marketers as you say are just out to seek opportunities rather than targeting their audiences.

  2. Wow these are amazing statistics. I never really knew when the first text message was sent but then this has taken me down memory lane. These days text messages have become a way of life in that most people do not go a day without either sending or receiving a text.
