Make the Next 6 Months of 2011 a Productive One for your Online Business!

Well folks as we rapidly approach the end of the last month in the first half of 2011, it would be safe to say that it is time to now assess the progress that you have made to affectively build your online business, whether it’s an ecommerce retail online business or a blogging business or a website for an existing business it doesn’t matter. How much progress have you made and What have you achieved? What we’re the highlights and the lowest points.

Whilst doing so, I would also like to encourage everyone to look down the pipeline and view the prospects of the next 6 months to come. We’ve taken and somewhat accepted the effects of Google’s kick in the pecans with the Panda situation, and I know that there are still businesses trying to recover from this effect, but it’s time to hit back harder than ever before and push your plans, ambitions and online business development further. It’s time to make the next six months a productive one.

Here are a few ideas and suggestions to get your motivation juices flowing for the next six months ahead to use in your online business development plans.

Take out the trash! – Not quite literally but over the last six months I’ve somewhat seen less and less of my desk space. There are sticky notes everywhere, invoices, books, stationary, coffee mugs which haven’t seen the kitchen sink since Easter and just a damn right mess. If you’re in the same boat as me, then it’s time to take out the trash and have a good old clear out. A clean, tidy and or organised work area means a less cluttered mind.

Be better organised – This is something that I have stressed about quite repeatedly in the past. Being organised means that you can be more productive throughout the day and complete your daily tasks and achieve the targets you set yourself. It’s not that hard to become organised you can use a work diary or Google calendar or Outlook Express which ever you prefer, but stay organised is the main thing.

If it ain’t working, fix it! – By assessing the progress of the last 6 months you’ll probably have a better idea what works best and what doesn’t for you. My best advice is to stop tiring yourself with unproductive methods and move over to more productive tactics; it could be the way you run your online business day to day, or the tactics you use for marketing and building your online business. Be creative and even try out new methods where possible. Just don’t plot away with the same strategies hoping that something will give.

Is it time to upgrade the old workhorse? This might get your juices flowing, perhaps it’s time to dump that old computer of yours on eBay and invest in a sparkly new one! Of course if your budget and need will allow it, why not do it! It just might be what’s needed to get you motivated, after all it’s not like you’re spending the money leisurely it’s for your online business right? :)

Play more, work less… What!! – Are you kidding me I hear you say… no! if you want to be more productive you can’t tie your ass to the chair 12 hours a day clicking away on Twitter and Facebook and writing your next blog posts for the next 3 months in advance… Get a social life and get the hell out of the house, join the gym or get a Wii or just make an effort to go for nice long walks each evening. It will definitely inspire you you’ll be buzzing with new ideas to use in your online business at the same time.

Well I think I’ve ranted enough today, a bit of a weird post, but as always let us know your thoughts about what you have planned for the next 6 months or so, what have you learnt over the last half a year and what has been the highest and lowest point for you, share with us.

I am still working towards my highpoint. Low point was when I realized that I can’t go to medical school unless I create enough online income to pay for it! Here we go!

It’s great that you mention actually going outside and having a life. Too many people get stuck behind the computer and are so focused on their business that they don’t stop to appreciate what’s around them. Spending time outside with friends and family shouldn’t be forsaken like that. Even if you have to schedule free time to make sure it happens, do it. Thanks for this.

Well, I can say we have made a great progress and hopefully “this time next year” well we all know what comes after that!
