3 Steps to Creating a Killer Business Marketing Page!

Many new webmasters when starting out on the path of online business marketing confuse the ever percussive ‘about me’ page with the ‘marketing page’. Although the about me page does often contain some marketing jargon, you cannot really put the two elements into the same category, so first of all let’s briefly identify the key differences between an about me page and a business marketing page.

About Me Page

Your website’s about me page is where you as a business owner attempt to describe in much detail of how your business came to be. This might include information about company’s aspirations from an initial idea, how you started off in your company’s journey, your qualifications, your achievements, services offered and your company’s goals for the future.

Business Marketing Page

Your business marketing page on the other hand is where you as a business owner attempt to describe, without sounding desperate, why your consumers should invest their time and money into your products or services. So now let’s look at some key points into how you can create a killer marketing page for your business:

1. Display Confidence – Your business marketing page should clearly display your and your businesses confidence by outlining achievements, attributes, feedback and testimonials as well as brief information on return policies and secure payment methods. An example would suggest:

…Our company has achieved a high level of training successes with fully trained staff in such and such… …we are so confident in our products / services that we offer a full 14-day money back guarantee… …simply take a look at what people are saying about the impeccable service we provide…

The above is a rough example of how to construct your marketing page by displaying confidence.

2. Professionalism – Corporate identity is so important in your business marketing page and should be used to boldly present what your business is about.

You should also display uniformity in proportionally portraying your company’s ability to collect, organise and deliver in a professional manner.

Inspiration and Excitement – Your business marketing page should certainly inspire your consumers and create a certain level of excitement almost. Make them feel the need to want to purchase and use your products or services or even recommend it to others.

What your marketing page shouldn’t contain!

We’ve taken a look at the three elements of creating a good business marketing page, now I’d like to briefly take a look at some of the things your marketing page shouldn’t contain.

I’m or we’re better than anyone else!!!

I see this happen all the time, in fact there is a particular art company online who’s website’s homepage screams out the words ‘We’re better than anyone else!’

What does this mean exactly?

Assuming this is what you’re doing in your marketing page, it means that what you’ve written sounds completely desperate, and instead of focusing on the benefits and features and passion about a product or service your company provides; you’re trying desperately hard to flog what ever it is you have by displaying irrelevant content all over your site about how much better you are compared to your market competitors.

Does it work? No!

Never ending page…

The other thing that I also see a lot of is a business marketing page that never seems to end. You just keep on scrolling and eventually you get somewhere. Don’t do this, consumers want quick, persuasive answers to what they’re looking for, not a bible of reasons to invest.

Final Notes

After all is said and done all you have to keep in mind when developing your killer business marketing page are: Confidence, professionalism and inspiration. Everything else is pretty much useless.
