How do you improve your Alexa traffic rank? – Over the last 3 months we’ve been completely obsessed with working towards improving our Alexa traffic rank. Just in case you didn’t know, Alexa is an Amazon company, and it is the web’s most popular website ranking system, ask any webmaster or web developer.
The system works by using the highest numerical rank (i.e. 10,000,000 or more) to represent a website with a weak 3 month global traffic rank or change, in other words its telling you that there are 10 million or so websites out there with a better 3 month global traffic rank than yours.
Whilst the lowest numerical rank (i.e. 100,000 or less) represents a website or blog with a stronger 3 month global traffic change, meaning there are only 100 thousand websites out there with a better 3 month global traffic rank the yours, simple.
How is this important to you?
This is important for many reasons being that it provides your visitors, including yourself, valuable information about your site’s current traffic data such as, reach, page views, bounce rate and average time spent on your site, amongst other useful data. This information can be used to assess and monitor the progress of your online marketing efforts in conjunction if you like with Google Analytics.
So in short the more traffic that you can generate to your site, and the more backlinks you can build to your site, the more improved your Alexa ranking will become, so to lower the ranking figure. So how exactly do you improve your Alexa traffic ranking? This post will look at ways for you to do just that.
- First of all, find and claim your site on Alexa.com
- Ensure you update your website or blog frequently.
- Build natural backlinks to your site through guest posting and blog commenting.
- If your website doesn’t have a blog, then integrate one.
- If your Alexa rank is reasonably impressive, show it off proudly by displaying a widget on your site.
- Ask your others to post a review in your Alexa site info.
- Install the Alexa toolbar.
Probably the most important tip on this list is to continue to market and promote through social media and building SEO quality backlinks. Well I hope this little post was enough to convince you that using the Alexa traffic ranking system is essentially important and wish you the best of luck in your quest to improve your Alexa traffic rank.
