One of the many great benefits from using Bluehost as your webhost is the security tools and features available.
One of which I’d like to highlight is the IP deny manager tool which allows you to block any unwanted IP in part or in full from accessing your site.
The tool is especially useful when used in conjunction with the limited login plugin for WordPress. You can use this tool to report back any suspicious activities taking place on your blog’s login page, as well as set a lockout time delay for however amount of login attempts you want to set it to.
This useful tool also makes a record of the IP’s failed login attempts, and you can then drop these unwanted IP’s into your IP deny manager folder in your Bluehost cPanel.
Here’s a quick tutorial showing you how:
1. Log into your Bluehost cPanel, scroll down to access the security panel.
2. Click on the IP Deny Manager icon.
3. Enter the IP’s you want to deny access to your site to in the box and hit add.
You can view or edit the list of blocked IP’s in the current IP’s being blocked folder.
