Incentives / Free Gifts!
These days everybody is looking for something for nothing, so give it to them. Free gifts and incentives are a great way to encourage and boost your online sales. One of the best incentives I can think of and have used on many occasions are the use of gift vouchers, as this works in two ways; As a free gift obviously and also encourages more business to come from your consumers.
Online Sale
Another top tip is to throw an online sale. Offer an exclusive one time offer lasting no longer than a few days. Weekends and public holidays are best times to hold an online sale. Here’s another tip I learnt from a case study I did a while back, your online sale is more likely to be more successful if you coincide it with national pay day, which more than often is at the end of the month.
Special Discount
Finally, special discounts. These work quite well with a wide range of consumer product based businesses, for example you may adopt the traditional buy two and get the third free or half price for example. I know that this would obviously not be suitable for all types of online businesses, but can definitely help boost your online sales at times of need.
Try and vary your methods and don’t use all of them at once. You might find that different methods work best at different times, but certainly experiment and you’ll soon be generating more sales to your business.
