How to Activate your New Look Facebook Fan Page!

A week ago Facebook rolled out a new look to the way the Facebook pages looked. They aim to have the new look automatically upgraded across the network by 1st of March 2011, however you can check if your pages are available for update by clicking here to check your page status.

So what’s so different with the new look?

The new look pretty much resembles the upgraded look of the user profiles which we saw took place last month.

Features

Show Off your Latest Photo’s

Photo’s that you upload to your page or tag will appear at the top of your page. You can hide photos easily by clicking on the cross.

Navigation Links

These are now in the same place as you would find the navigational links on your own Facebook profile page, making them more recognisable to users.

Wall Filters

The wall filters allows you to show posts created by your page or from posts by others. This method paves way or your fans to view the most interesting stories first. You have access to additional filters as the page admin.

Make Facebook Page your Default Page

You now have the option of making any of your Facebook pages your main page and use it as you would your normal profile if you like. This gives the ability to receive notifications when fans interact with your page and one of my favourite features to make comments as your fan page profile on your favourite pages or any other pages on Facebook, this feature could be a great way to build more targeted fans to your page.

Easier Page Edit

Editing your page is much simpler from a simple click on the top right hand corner button, taking you to your edit options for that page.

So get on and get your profile pimped and get more interactive and more fans with the new features, enjoy!

  1. Brilliant Fabzy, useful tutorial as always, I’ve not even come across a tutorial even on Facebook showing how to do this, perhaps I’m not looking hard enough lol.

Thanks Sammy where has your Gravatar gone? I’ve not seen any thing Facebook about it either, perhaps I’m not looking hard enough too lol.

  2. I think the ability to make the page our default page is a cool new feature that I dig. It really helps if all you do in facebook is market your blog.
