8 Effective Ways to use Facebook for your Business!


Facebook, as you know is used by thousands of businesses worldwide with the recognition that internet traffic and sales leads can be generated through the use of social media sites.

Today I’d like to share with you 8 effective methods in which you can utilise your Facebook business page or fan page to generate more traffic and possibly get more sales leads to your online business.

So let’s begin…

The Wall

The wall in your Facebook fan page is where most of the information that you’re going to share with others is going to be. Here you can add links, notifications & messages, add news and information, events and any updates relating to your business or work website. If you run an online blog you can also utilise this space by setting up RSS Graffiti to post your feeds directly onto your wall.

The wall also offers you a great opportunity to interact with your fans or followers with respect to what you’re doing to make your business work more effectively. So use it to ask questions and share your personal thoughts and suggestions on any aspects of your business. Get a second opinion from your fans on particular products or services for example.

The Fans

The fans are your lifeblood of your business interventions with Facebook, as without them you wouldn’t need to bother at all with using Facebook for business. The Landing Page

The landing page is ultimately one of the best features you can utilise on your Facebook page, especially for your business. Many businesses create a landing page to advertise special offers as well as giveaways, free gifts or simply to setup an opt-in email newsletter form.

The Notes

The notes section is another one of my favourite and I consider it to be one of the most underutilised features on Facebook pages. Consider writing a nice article or post every so often and posting it into your notes section.

This has several properties, firstly being that the posts you create in Facebook notes are indexed by the search engines, and secondly it gives you the opportunity to share some of your knowledge and expertise to your fans for free.

The Ecommerce App

If you run an ecommerce based online business then consider using an ecommerce and shopping cart service on your fan page. If you have thousands of targeted fans this could be a worthwhile investment opportunity for you to encourage sales online. Take a look at the popular ecommerce app Payvment.

The Photos

The photos section is also yet another underutilised section in Facebook pages, after all how many of your fans or followers do your really want to be sharing pictures of you walking your dog to?

That’s not what it’s for as you can upload more appropriate photos such as ones of your products and services, business premises etc. Add your company logo and maybe your business accolades and achievements.

The Videos

If you’re able to create videos of whatever’s going on in your line of business; be it a tutorial or product or service demonstration, consider uploading some to your Facebook page. This along with adding photos is a great way to get your fans interacting more with you and of course getting targeted individuals to join.

The Promotion

Finally, why not create and exclusive promotion that is available only to fans of your page. This could be something totally unique such as an ebook or a special series of video tutorials. You can even giveaway a discount code for purchases made on your website or ecommerce page on Facebook.

These kinds of promotions can encourage more people to follow you on Facebook as well as generate more sales leads for your business making your fan page work more effectively for its purpose.
