Blog Traffic tips for your Small Business Blog!

Not all blogs are designed to make money from, however it does have it’s advantages. If you’ve just launched a small business blog then no doubt one of your main fundamental objectives will be trying to drive traffic to it. To be able to do this successfully you’ll need to understand fully the purpose of your business blog, not just SEO, but to create a valid reason as to why your business consumers should read your blog.

If you have trouble getting to grips with this let me give you an example.

I’m thinking about launching a blog for my online art business; my objectives for the blog will be to try and achieve the following:

1. To introduce new artwork to my collection.

2. To showcase new artwork or a specific piece of artwork to my readers.

3. To talk about the latest best selling colours and tones.

4. To interact with art collectors, critics and fans of my work.

5. To reward and generate more interest in my work by holding blog competitions.

6. To break all the latest news, events and exhibition dates to my readers & collectors.

7. To notify my readers and subscribers any changes being made to my online art business.

So I think you get the general idea of what can be achieved with a business blog. Somewhat different in many ways to this blog which is designed to provide information on business marketing, web design tips and blogging whilst making money from the contextual ads and links.

So for you to get a business blog going successfully, ask yourself what it is you want to achieve and what kind of topical and resourceful information you want to add to your blog for your reader’s interest. Once you’re able to do this the traffic will be generated from the interest in your business product or services. Here are some suggestions in getting traffic to your business blog:

1. Place a link from a product to a blog story that relates to the product.

2. Create a product review and add a link from it to your blog.

3. Break all the news regarding your business or products on your blog.

4. Create a feedback page for a particular product using your blog with a link from your business website.

5. Allow readers to write their own reviews about a particular product and post it on your business blog.

6. Get more traffic to your business blog using social networking sites, RSS directories, advertising on other related blogs and chat forums.

So there you have it once again, a small insight into how a business blog works alongside a business website and some general tips on how to get traffic to it. Any further suggestions please leave them below in your comments section.

A very important method for getting traffic is to leave really thought out out comments on other blogs, especially if they’re niche related. If you do this consistently not only will you drive traffic to your blog but you will increase the amount of comments you get which builds up your credibility in other people’s eyes.
