The Three Keys to Success in Business

I’ve been asked on numerous occasions about my online art business and how I’ve managed to be so successful in selling artwork worldwide for a living.

The three keys to success are very simple but by all-means a pretty hard challenge to uphold. Any artist’s will tell you that it isn’t easy to give up your stable day job and start making a living from selling art. I mean where do you start and who do you sell to? How do you sell it?

That’s another story, however the principals of succeeding in any business remains the same.

100% Commitment: If you’re going to go into business there is no point what so ever going into it half-hearted, or feeling unsure about it. If you know in your heart that you truly want to be running your own business as much as I did when I first started, then you will be 100% committed no matter what.

You’ll know when you’re truly committed by simply asking yourself the question, would you do what ever it is you want to do as a business for free or very little money in return? If the answer is yes then that’s enough commitment as far as I’m concerned.

Hard-work: Nothing comes without hard work. When I built my website which generates around 200 art sales a year, all I thought about was getting traffic to it, targeting consumers and generating sales. Painting was and still is my passion of course, but I knew that just being an artist wasn’t going to be enough. I needed to learn more than just being an artist; I needed to become a businessman. And so the hard work became even harder for me.

In what ever line of business you’re setting into, hard-work is one of the essential keys to success.

Patience: This is crucial in business and whether you’re blogging or setting up an online shop you need to be patience. As long as the hard work, progress and dedication is there, all you can do is wait for results and trust me it will come. Consumers will come to your store; they will eventually purchase from you or start using your services.

Now go away and think about this very carefully and put more heart, belief and trust into what you do and you will succeed.
