It’s that time of the year again when online ecommerce business owners look to start clearing their old stocks and generating some extra revenue as well as creating new space for new stock for the spring and summer.

Tip 1 – Keep it short and sweet. Run your sale for no longer than a week tops. This way you can draw in more interest from impulse buyers and avoid buyers thinking that they have all the time in the world to make a purchase from you.

Tip 2 – Make your sale clear from the homepage of your website. There is nothing worst than having a sale that isn’t highlighted affectively. Use colours and bold text that stand out from the rest of your homepage.

Tip 3 – If you want to maximise your ROI, use online social networking sites to promote and advertise your sale. Why not use a special promotional code for extra discount for your Facebook or Twitter fans.

Tip 4 – Make the terms and conditions of your online sale clear and bold to avoid any discrepancies.

Tip 5 – One of the best ways to promote an online sale is through email marketing. Add images of your products or services along with your sale prices and a link to view more.
