Inbox2 Social Email Desktop Client User Review

Ive been using Inbox2 social and email desktop client for a few days now after reading some of its more positive reviews on other blogs and websites. I decided to give it a try out myself with the hope that it would be the answer to all my social networking requirements, as well as this I also wanted to give it my own personal user review.

At first glance it does look the business with its slick black graphite stylish design. The dashboard is clutter free with almost an iTunes design theme to it if that makes sense.

On the home tab you’re greeted with a 3 column layout consisting of a folders, productivity and labels section on the left column. Your social and email inbox is located in the middle column and your real-time streaming is placed in the right column which is also a collapsible column. There is also a dedicated inbox search box neatly placed in the centre at the top the dashboard.

Alongside the home tab there is a contacts tab displaying your list of social contacts, a documents tab and an images viewing tab.

The new message tab allows you to either create & send emails to your contacts or to update your Facebook or Twitter status.

The send and receive tab enables you to download all messages from across all accounts or individual accounts.

In the settings options you can select to add more accounts from your Gmail account, Yahoo, Facebook, Hotmail, Twitter and LinkedIn to name a few. You can also update your profile and set other general user settings from other tabs.

In the inbox section of the dash you can select to view all messages from all accounts or select individual accounts. There is also a link at the bottom of the dashboard that allows for Twitter searches.

Could do with more options on adding other social accounts that is not available from the list.
Freezes when you attempt to open a message from time to time.
Forces closure when you select to view inbox from list to detailed list.
