When it comes to business advertising, one of the first concerns that come to mind is cost; so in this post I have suggested six top places on the internet and also off the web where you can advertise your business for free!
Business advertising as you are aware is an essential part of business marketing and generally publicising your business to a targeted audience. In many cases it can cost you a small fortune, however your ROI can be immensely improved through smart ad optimisation techniques, which we’ll take a look at in more detail in a later post.
Ok for now let’s take a closer look at some of the top places were you can advertise your business for free!
Google Places for Business
Google places for business is the first place to start advertising online. It’s a great feature with many benefits; if you haven’t already started using it then get on the case. If you are using it, then why not review and update your current listing.
Van Marciano Art's Google Places Ad
With Google places you can create a full business listing with all the essential details outlined. You can attract new customers by creating and adding offers for your customers; keep tabs on your listing statistics such as page impressions and the number of actions taken on your listing (number of people clicking on your listing to get to your site).
Business Directories
Another great place to get free advertising as well as improve your business website’s search engine rankings is by adding your business to free online business directories.
Article Directories
If you haven’t yet considered writing a few articles and submitting it to the top article directories, then you’re missing out on a huge chunk of free advertising opportunity. Whatever your line of business maybe, consider writing a few articles based on your products or services.
You’re not actually promoting your business directly, but more appropriately elaborating on a reason as to why consumers should consider using such products or services, that is offered by your business for example. Create a problem scenario and then create a solution in your article.
In the article itself you can highlight at least one targeted keyword and link it back to your business website. You can also add some details about you and your business in the author box, which appears at the bottom of the article also with a link back to your business website. This encourages your readers to visit your website after reading your article in hope that you can offer a product or service that will solve their problems.
Now do this over many top article directories, hitting mainly the higher ranking ones that uses do-follow tags in their author box, and your business website will get the exposure that you never thought possible.
Print & Distribute Flyers
Here’s a simple one for you, if you have the energy and time, as well as a printer and some spare paper at hand, then print out some basic flyers and distribute them around your local neighbourhood. If you’re feeling motivated enough get a map and start hitting the surrounding towns one by one on a weekly basis. Remember to use corporate branding so that people can instantly recognise what your business is about.
Leave your Business Cards in Hotels & Guesthouses
If you travel away from home on business quite a bit throughout the year then take with you a bunch of business cards and a few flyers. Ask the hotel or guesthouse owner if it would be possible to leave a few of them at the reception. It works a treat for my business and should certainly work for anyone else.
Create your Own Vehicle Window Decals
Here’s the chance to be a little bit creative. Ever thought of using your car as a mobile advertising billboard? Why not! You can design a really snazzy window banner on your computer, print a few off and pop them on the rear sides, or on the rear window providing it doesn’t obstruct your view when driving, please make sure of this.
Using you car as a mobile advertising billboard can attract hundreds possibly thousands of viewers depending on your geographical location, its easy, effective and costs almost nothing.
So there you have it another useful piece of business marketing information brought to you by M4M. If anyone can think of a few others that I’ve not included here please fire away in the comments section below.
