Ecommerce Blogging Tips: What should you be Ranting About!

Many online business owners are now integrating a blog into their websites, in particular are ecommerce business owners.

Today’s post is about just that; ecommerce business owners looking to add valuable content to their blog. What should you be ranting about? I’ve suggested a few topics that I hope will come to good use.

News & Events

First and foremost use your blog to break all the latest news regarding your business. This could be news relating new products or online promotional campaign or newsletter excerpts.

Check out our article on 5 Methods of Content Marketing to Increase Sales posted on Bizcovering.com. Consider posting articles on special features or specialised topics related to your products or services. Passionately talk about the features and benefits of what your site offers, this is great for SEO as well as some affective content marketing. For example if your website sells canvas art then you could blog about the benefits of purchasing colour matching artwork, or if your website sells mobile phones you could blog about the special advantages of certain tariffs or phone packages.

Reviews & Case Studies

Another suggestion is to regularly review one of your products or perform a case study over several posts. Add your personal thoughts and feedback, readers will value your opinion since you specialise in your niche.

Monthly Top 10

Why not compile your top ten best selling products or services of the month and place them in a post. This is great for creating deep links as well as giving an insight into what is popular at the moment on your site.

Featured Products

Another fantastic little idea is to blog about a single product and make it the feature of the week. You could even create a special discount product page and link it exclusively from your featured product post, encouraging your readers to read your blog as well as rewarding them for it.

Reader Competitions

This is another great tip for getting your readers to interact more on your blog, hold a competition and ask your readers to comment or tweet it to be in with the chance to win.

Well I hope this helps in giving you a few heads up on what to write about. One of the things to remember is that your readers will look to your blog for anything related to your products or services so it’s important you remember to keep to the subject line. Good luck and if you have any further suggestions don’t forget have your say below.
