Time Management: The White Board!

Time Management and how it can be the Key Ingredient to your Success?

In this post Samantha looks at the time management and prioritising and getting yourself a new friend which you will call ‘The White Board’…

So much to do and don’t know where to start? Well read on and it should give you some of the answers you are looking for.

First of all buy a little white board, hang a wipe-able marker on it and put it above your work desk, alternatively you can use your refrigerator to write on but I really don’t recommend it (laughs). Ok, split it into two sections and in the first section put ‘to do’ and the second section put ‘in progress’. Now every time you think of a task that needs completing just pop it in the first column, and when you start something move it across to the ‘in progress’ column but be sure to put a completion date so you know what your deadline is on the task. This will also help you with prioritising because at the end of the day if you haven’t completed what you planned out to do you’ve only got yourself to kick in the teeth.

Now prioritising, we all know what the word means but ask yourself do you really prioritise, do you honestly look at a task and think how important it is to your business or do you prioritise as to what is easy. Look at your tasks and think of the end result and at the end of the day its money, time is money!! That’s why its so important so think about which tasks will have an impact on your bottom line and make those top priority.

Organising is not about knowing everything and planning everything it is just about being in control. So as long as you are in control and you are aware and have everything in motion you are effectively organised. So get down to the store buy that white board and say hello to organisation.
