How To Install Genesis Theme Framework & Child Theme Into WordPress

Install Genesis Theme Framework

In this how to post I’m going to share with you 4 easy to follow steps on how to install Genesis theme framework into WordPress with a child theme.

How to Install Genesis Theme Framework

Step One – Make one of the best investments of your life!

Go to the StudioPress website and check out all the information about Genesis Theme Framework (version 2.0) and the array of top quality child themes available, many with HTML5 markup. Check out the features and benefits of using one of the smartest WordPress theme frameworks on the web, select the child theme you’d like and purchase the theme framework package.

Step Two – Instal Genesis Theme Framework…

Once you’ve made your purchase and you have downloaded both files Genesis Framework and the Child Theme of your choice, log into your WordPress dashboard (self-hosted only), and go to Appearance > Themes

Step Three – Upload…

Now click on the upload button, then Browse and upload the entire zip file Genesis Theme Framework first. Once uploaded successfully do not press the activate theme button yet… Go back to the upload button and Browse and upload the Church Child theme. See images below.

Go to Appearance > Themes…

Click on Install Themes Tab…

Click on Upload link…


Browse and upload Genesis Theme Framework first, then the Church Child theme (Only press the activate theme after you have uploaded the Child Theme, not before.)

Step Four – Activate…

Once the Church Child theme has been uploaded and installed successfully, click on the activate theme link and your new theme will be activated with its acting parent theme Genesis Framework. Select and tweak your settings and preferences accordingly and you’re all done.
